A year of giving back
20 May 2026

Intel has called Ireland home since 1989. Alongside more than €30 billion in investment and 4,900 jobs, the company has embedded itself in Irish communities through its Signature Charity initiative. For the last 16 years, the Intel Foundation and Intel employees have selected a charity to dedicate volunteer time and funds towards for the entire year.

In 2025, Intel Ireland selected Teach Tearmainn as its signature charity because of its mission to serve women and children who experience domestic violence and abuse. It is the only organisation dedicated to offering this support in County Kildare, and its free and confidential services, including refuge accommodation, are a lifeline.

With support from the Intel Foundation and the Intel Ireland public affairs team, employees both led and participated in various activities to support Teach Tearmainn. These included athletic ventures, such as ‘fun runs’, an annual cycle event in September and even a triathlon, as well as a giving campaign in November. Other employees created and sold a cookbook titled A Taste Of Home, while many recycled cans and bottles from two employee cafes and donated the proceeds to the charity.

Thanks to these and other fundraising activities, Intel donated €80,000 to Teach Tearmainn at the end of the year. As explained by Sarah Sexton, Director of Public Affairs, Intel Ireland:

‘Our Signature Charity initiative is very important to employees at Intel Ireland. We take great pride in coming together to support local causes, and thanks to the wonderful efforts of employees throughout 2025, we made our largest charity donation to date. Teach Tearmainn do such important work in Kildare supporting women and children who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse, and we were delighted to support them.’

Intel Ireland is continuing the Signature Charity initiative in 2026. Following a selection process managed by Intel Ireland employee representatives, the company will volunteer and fundraise for Samaritans Ireland, a charity dedicated to using human connection to prevent suicide.
